Dear D-Zine Readers,

D-Zine was inspired to promote an open-source architecture magazine that is accessible for general public reading. We hope the idea of creating this digital magazine could uncover our design aspirations, thoughts, discourses, and artifacts in the built environment virtually.

This first issue focuses on human beings as the caliph of Allah on earth. Architecture has persevered as one of the most significant pieces of evidence in human civilization. For centuries, the iconic architecture around the world was built as the narration of human power (e.g. Pyramid in Egypt), strength (e.g. Colosseum in Italy), and love (e.g. Taj Mahal in India). This gigantic and iconic architecture has always been the architect’s dream, which will turn out to be the future recapitulation. But the question is, how could this architectural manifestation serve and benefit human living?
